The Placencia
area offers a number of snorkeling venues, including Laughing Bird Caye,
Ranguana Caye, the Silk Cayes (a/k/a Queen Cayes), Moho Caye, Whipray
Caye and the Lark Caye Range -- not to mention the Mesoamerican Barrier
Reef, the western hemisphere's longest barrier reef.
Most
snorkeling trips are a full day in duration, and include lunch and gear,
although a few half-day trips are available.
And, don't forget whale shark snorkeling interaction
around the full moons in April and May of each year -- a rare
opportunity to snorkel with the oceans' "gentle giants."
Nim Li Punit Mayan Ruins:
ceremonial ruins most notable for the stelae found at the site; tour
of Nim Li Punit is combined with either the Lubaantun ruins or Blue
Creek Cave
We attempt to select the best guides and tour
operations for each of these tours. Therefore, advance
notice is appreciated if you are interested in any of these activities.
Also, except for the Monkey River tour, a minimum of
4 persons is required for each tour. Consequently, flexibility in
scheduling is required if you are traveling with fewer than 3 other
people.

general sales tax (GST). Hotels/resorts must charge a 9% hotel tax
on accommodations.
By law, all rates quoted for goods and services must include the GST, but
quoted hotel room rates need not include the hotel tax. All of our package rates include both
GST and hotel taxes. As required by law, rates for tours quoted on our
Website include the 10% GST. Many hotels and resorts also
impose a service charge. We have included service charges in package
rates unless specifically stated otherwise.
